Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.

August 17, 2015- The Last Letter!

The last letter...

During the whole week we were teaching Regina everyday getting up to
her Baptism. She was so excited and ready to do it. She choose bishop
to baptize her and a couple members to give talks. The baptism was on
Saturday and she invited her non member daughter and her kids, as well
as her boyfriend and cousin. The baptism went smoothly and several
people showed up to support her. It was so touching to see her
baptized, she really wanted it. she was confirmed the following day in
sacrament and the ward mission leader did that.

Telling people it was my last Sunday was SO effective! For the first
time Bill came to church as well as Michel and Joey from the Diamond
family! bill left after sacrament, but the others stayed! it was a
huge answer to many prayers. Bill sounded like he would be back, and
Joey really liked church and wants to get into scouting, so there is
the Key!

If you want to know why this letter is so short, I invite you to read
this scripture
3 John 1:13-14

August 10, 2015

I think mom does have a spare car, but I'm going to be looking for a manual one when I come home. I hate auto! I have literally been dreaming of driving a manual again. I know mom did set me up for some doctors appointments those first couple of days.

Mission 101...

This week was my 101st week here in the field, it's crazy how time just passes as a dream (Jacob 7:26) but it's been a dream that I pray never fades away.

We had a great zone training this past week, it was the last on I had to plan, whooo! I don't have to stress over that anymore :) I have had to do more meetings than we usually have to, but it was always a good learning experience to plan them and run them. Elder Hiatt and I gave a training on being wolves! There was this video we showed of how when they reintroduced wolves into Yellowstone national park, there began to be small changes in the way things were. But how after a long while there start large changes and in the end even the rivers changed because of them. We tied it into the missionaries of how they like these wolves have the potential to accomplish things they never even imagined. We were worried about not having enough material to speak for 20 minuets, but we ended up having enough to speak for 40 minuets! Which was good and bad, because we were not able to hear the last training that was planned. But all in all the meeting went very well.

The rest of the week was spent focusing on Regina and preparing her for baptism. We were able to visit with her 4 times this week. The bishop was able to go with us to one of the lessons and that was great! He had been out of town for two weeks and had yet to meet her. Then the following day we introduced her to president bennion. He lived in the same part of California that she did. She is so prepared to hear the gospel,Moshe has made changes in a matter of days that she had not been able to do in the space of months. The Lord has given her so much strength to do what is right and be ready. It will be awesome to see her enter in the waters of baptism my last weekend in the mission!

I was able to go on exchange as well with the other Spanish elders. It was a different type of exchange than usual. My companion went with the other Grayson elders and I joined the Spanish companionship. So we were in a trio for the day. It was really fun, the elders are very hard working and get along great. We were able to eat dinner at one of my favorite members homes, the lupercios. It was great to be able to see them and invite them to the fireside farewell we do out here.

I'm excited to go really hard this last week and do all that I can to get as many people being taught here, so the next elder has stuff to do. I'm also going to take advantage of the phrase     " it's my last Sunday, you have to come to church!" To be able to get the max amount of people there at church with me. :)

The blessings flow...

This week was incredible! It was such a fast week, which is both good and bad. We had a lot of meetings this week. Tuesday was such a spiritual, stressful day. That morning we had zone conference. We were giving a training on working with members. The sister training leader for our area lead us in perfectly with her trading she gave on helping people keep commitments. It helped us with ours because we were trying to help the missionaries in their efforts to get referrals from the members. Commitments are such a huge part of that because if people sent challenged to do something, they usually don't do it. I was able to learn allot that zone conference. Then after we had to head up to the top of our area so we could go teach bill. We had to go alone because our team up could not come. But we went and read 3 Nephi 11 with him. He liked it and enjoys the things that are taught, we just have to get him to take a leap of faith. Than after that lesson we had to head back down to where we had zone conference so we could go to a stake mission leadership training done by the stake presidency. We thought we were going to have to present something so we had planned a presentation, but we got lucky and we dint have to.

The rest of the week went great as well. On Thursday we went around meeting less actives and following up with people. We taught our investigator named Regina for the second time. She also commuted to be baptized on the 15th of August! She is so excited to be baptized. She loves the Book of Mormon SO much. She reads like 6 chapters each day, she said she knows that it is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet. The members have also just been awesome with her. They have just taken her under their wing and just helping her along. This has been such a miracle. It is a testimony that if you do all you can to bring to pass good, though it may take longer than you hoped for. You can know for sure that the blessings will come eventually.

Friday we had our mission leadership council. It was super good! That has been the blessing of being a ZL. Being able to go to those meetings and learning from the mission president and the people he invites to come and teach us. This time he invited the former mission president of the California Santa Rosa mission. He and his wife were there to help teach us about the iPads. They were the first mission in the world to revive them. They told us about the success and failure they had as a mission. President Alba gave a training about leadership and how our tiny influence can change everything about this mission. It made me think allot about life and how our tiny influence can change others lives completely. Either for good or evil.

I can't even try to explain all the miracles and blessings the lord pours out on us every week. But I can testify that this is the Lords work and he controls it. I'm grateful I still have time to be a part of it full time.
